Mode Conversion and Models for the
Stability of Alfvén eigenmodes

Different models for global Alfvén eigenmodes are compared from a theoretical point of view to show that a toroidal gyrokinetic calculation is required to correctly take into account the mode conversion and predict the stability of tokamaks in the presence of fast particles.
